BY Long awaited Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) will return to its true form of road racing on 3rd and 4th December 2022. Missing the excitement of preparing at the start line with others? Runners can also look forward to the much-anticipated mass start that has been a tradition of racing events.
As events are resuming to full-capacity, SCSM is expected to draw up to 50,000 participants over the two days. With the Safe Management Measures that will be put in place, runners can be assured a safe and enjoyable race experience that the race sets to offer.
As quoted by Jeff Edwards, Managing Director of Asia for The IRONMAN Group “After SCSM2021, we’ve been constantly monitoring the status of the pandemic in Singapore while working closely with Sport Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Standard Chartered Bank, and all other stakeholders to determine the format for the 2022 edition. With the restrictions easing, we are delighted to be able to organise an event that our runners have grown to love year after year.”
Return of Half Marathon and Marathon
This year’s event returns back on full scale with a Double Up Challenge with limited slots available to offer. Participants can register for two races, either the 5km or 10km category and combine it with a Half Marathon 21.1km or Marathon 42.195km. Alongside the respective event finisher medals, they will also receive an exclusive Double Up Challenge medal upon completion as well.
SCSM’s Brand New Logo
Welcoming the return of full-scale events, SCSM has also unveiled its brand new logo that features our national icons, the Merlion and the Orchid. The Merlion, celebrating its 50th birthday this year, signifies the event’s positioning as a city race while the Orchid symbolises the Singapore spirit of going beyond and defying limits to achieve greatness.
