So taking on running and keeping up with it is a feat in itself. Trying two sports at the same time, and you should be given a medal.
What about running, swimming, and then running again? That should be given a medal, a trophy and many cheerleaders, especially if it is your first time out.
The TRI-Factor RunSwim 2017 was everything newcomers needed to come along and feel motivated by.
While the turnout the day of the event was a little lacking, nothing would stop these people from their participation. As the run started, many chose to rush in, getting into the race full on. Others chose to preserve their energy, choosing to reserve their energy for the rest of the event. In the hot muggy day, the runners ran into the water and made their way in, swimming the pre-requisite distance needed. Some took to the water like ducks, some struggled, all persevered.
Some who chose to take on the 21km running event ran to their heart’s content, and the competition was on, heated and strong.
You may have expected the event to be filled with tired runners considering the crowd was small. However, the entire mood was one of competition. Volunteers and workers from the emcee who cheered on the participants with motivational quotes for people to get psyched up, to the road safety officers doing checks to make sure runners had a fun run without any danger.
The end of the run was not the end of the day for runners, for many joined the booths to have a look at what they had available, including some who stopped by the RUN Singapore booth to enjoy a popsicle on us!
