The gradual easing of the restrictions in Singapore has given way for optimism in races. Qooline is a regional run challenge that is covered in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand on every quarter throughout the year.
Unlike other races and taking a cue from golf game, Qooline is a virtual run based on an age handicap system to create a level playing field for everyone. Its holistic approach gives every participant, regardless of age, an interesting shot to the podium finish. The age handicap concept works on having points earned based on runner’s birth year vis-à-vis completion time. Two runners of different birth year but with similar completing timing will not get the same awarded points. The older and fitter runner will earn more points and possibly, a shot to the podium finish too.
In each quarter, the top five male and female runners in 5KM and 10KM race category with the most accumulated points will walk away with cash prizes and winners’ trophies. The overall top five winners with the most accumulated points from all four quarters will stand to win the grand prizes. The race is scheduled on the last weekend of every month and only the best results out of three races in that quarter will determine the overall winner for the quarter.
The race is now into its 3rd and 4th quarter races. Interested participants can still take participate in the 3rd quarter race which ends on 30th September 2021. The 4th quarter race will commence on 1 October and ends on 31st October 2021.
