BY Scheduled on the 28th October 2017, this promises to be the lifestyle event that makes running more fun than ever. Set in Sentosa’s Palawan Green, participants will go down the scenic route getting doused with special Glow Powder, and running through paths of neon lights on the way to the finish line.
Creating a certain club exclusivity, the Skechers Blacklight Run’s VIP Contingent will be out running alongside the runners, with local celebrities rubbing elbows with the ordinary runners. Star of the Ah Boys to Men movie franchise Joshua Tan has been announced as Race Ambassador of the event, as well as the host of the VIP Contingent. He will also be leading the hype crew at the pre-race party in a bid to warm up the crowd before the event.
Beyond standard packages that were offered in the past editions, this year they are also throwing in a Superstar category as well as an Islander Bunder (spelling all intentional). The Superstar category is a new addition where the first twenty runners who sign up at $198 would be able to garner more exclusivity for themselves during the event.
This includes a customised VIP Skechers Black VIP Tee, a new pair of Skechers shoes with glow-in-the-dark laces, access to the VIP Lounge, front access on the running line, as well as opportunities to go on stage for photo opportunities with other stars.
The Islander Bunder, on the other hand, not only lets you join the event, but also lets you have a 1-year Sentosa Islander Individual membership, which is perfect for participants who want to enjoy the sunny island more often in the weekends for staycations.
This year, they have invited headliner DJ Lady Punch from Thailand to spin the desks, alongside Malaysians DJ team Hypeembeats, and Singapore’s own DJ Momo. The three of them will be playing at the afterparty, and the beats they’re playing are guaranteed to make you want to party.
