Blue seas by white sand is what most people would imagine when asked about the perfect holiday destination. With this in mind, we would suggest that your next trip would be to Laguna Phuket, a place where beach resort living is the town’s bread and butter.
However, we’re not asking you to relax on the beach and be bored out of your skull. We’re getting you to join the Laguna Phuket Marathon.
The event has always featured international participation, with an estimate of more than 60 per cent of the runners flying in and making a vacation out of it. This year, in its 12th edition, the Laguna Phuket Marathon is still just as fun as before, and great for the whole family to enjoy.
As a two-day event, the event is the weekend getaway for those who are looking for an active beach holiday. It is also considered one of the biggest destination marathons in South East Asia, and there will be five categories involved in the event. A 2km Kids Run, 5km Run, 10.5km Run, Half Marathon (21.097km) and Marathon (42.195km) for the adults. So far, almost 2,000 people have already signed up for the iconic marathon distance.
It is also a place to raise money for charity. This year, the organisers, alongside the Laguna Phuket Foundation will be launching their “Children First Fund”, supporting more than 400 orphans in seven orphanages in Phuket.
To work its magic of running in social media, Thailand’s Event Ambassador Patcharasri “Kalamare” Benjamas will be attending the Laguna Phuket Marathon in June and lending his voice to push more people to run through the #MyFirstTime campaign.
Runners who are into social media can use the hastag to share their experiences of running and act as inspiration for other people who want to run as much as them while also pushing the healthy lifestyle agenda. He will be joining other Event Ambassadors from all over Asia who will be doing the same.
This will definitely be a run that will be memorable, whether through blogposts, videos, the other social media platforms, and even in your head. Sun, skies, beautiful blue seas and running to reach your goals… isn’t that the ultimate view of what living your best life is? #lifegoals
The Laguna Phuket Marathon is still available for those who wish to sign up, so get going to sign up here!
