Home to the picturesque and tourist attraction Mount Batur, Bali is not only a popular getaway destination but an ultra-runner’s favourite as well. The Bali Ultra Trail is returning for another thrilling edition on the weekend of 19-20 August 2023. Following its successful debut as a Candidate Race in 2022, the 100km and 50km race categories are designated as new points races for the 2023 ATM Championship ranking.
Mount Batur is rapidly establishing itself as a prime destination for trail running enthusiasts. While it might not be the highest peak, the challenge it presents is no less formidable.
With Grandmaster Dendi Dwitiandi at the helm as race director, the second edition of the ultra trail race will build upon the success and experience of last year. The previous 80km course will not stretch to 100k and will feature the mentally tough out-and-back section leading to the beach in North Bali. The 50km race will remain within the Batur area itself.
The Bali Ultra Trail is suitable for trail runners of all fitness levels. Apart from the 100km and 50km races, the event features both ultra-marathon and non-ultra-marathon distances as well. First-time challengers are welcome to take part, with the 10km or 25km distance category that is perfect category for their inaugural Bali Ultra Trail journey.
Cut-off times are designed to be fair yet challenging, pushing participants to give their all. And as a testament to their accomplishments, every finisher will be rewarded with a medal at the finish line.
Set in Kintamani, Bali, this event promises an unforgettable experience characterized by the natural beauty of the surroundings and the warm hospitality of the locals. To add on to the vibrant atmosphere of the race, it features a packed schedule of tours and an expo showcasing the latest running gear.
