The Kuala Lumpur Marathon celebrates its 10th year of running in 2018. Often seen as a companion race to the Singapore Marathon, the event sees entrants from all over Malaysia and Singapore, as well as attracts the best runners from the Asian region.
With interest at a record high for this year’s race, 10,000 race slots for the full marathon were made available to the public. Incredibly, by the time word got out to the internet, all the full marathon race places were already spoken for.
Being a celebration of the event’s first decade, there are a bunch of special features to be introduced at the race. If you’ve been a regular at the race, you’ll be able to check your participation history through the SCKLM website. This feature allows runners to see how they have progressed through the years.
If you have actually participated in all 10 editions of the race, you’ll be part of the “SCKLM Juggernauts” and will receive special privileges such as personalised running t-shirts and customised bib numbers. To keep the race fresh and challenging, the Full and Half Marathon categories will have a new route that navigates around more of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic landmarks as well.
