Over the weekend, staff and personnel from Singapore’s Civil Service, governing ministries, and other agencies came together to have fun at this year’s Civil Service Club Run by the Bay 2017. This is an annual highlight of the CSC’s event calendar, where the most avid runners from the Civil Service gather to compete against each other.
It’s not all about competition though, and the participants of the run are full of cheer, with many choosing to bring their friends and colleagues into the scene by joining them for a leisurely slow run along the route. Regardless of reason, the CSC run was considered a job well done for all who ran in the race.
With runners from Ministry of Education, the JTC Corporation, and even Republic Polytechnic, the event was a turn out for participating institutions and their members.
Growing in the number of participants with each passing year, the latest race took place at the Marina Barrage. The expansive view of the sea and bays have made this a very popular place to start and end races from, and all took an opportunity to enjoy the sunny day ahead.
Runners shedded some of the crusty exterior they had to put up for the sake of work, for it was not a day for reticence and polite interest in the run. The competitive ones shows examples of passion and energy, while many took it as a morning of exercise for the family. Many reported that they joined the race merely to help encourage their friends and colleagues to run because of a lack of exercise. A few joined merely for the fun of it. All were satisfied at the event.
