It may have been hot enough to flat out melt chocolate in seconds, but the Meiji Run still kicked off with much enthusiasm and good cheer. The world’s most delicious race was accurate as a sweet version of what races could be like in Singapore.
The event day itself started off at 7.20am where some participants practised yoga with an instructor from Yoga Lab, and were treated to a breakfast of yogurt, including the Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt Drink with Wild Honey, and an apple and banana to top it off.
They were also given Meiji Amino Collagen as the organisers took a widescreen shot of everyone raising their bottles in a toast.
Hours later, the Meiji Run event officially started, with participants running in either the 5km or the 10km events, along with children participating in the Kids Dash.
Runners took to the run with aplomb considering the brightness of the sun and the heat emanating from the ground. They also had to take a run through sand, which was a challenge for some but befitted the race venue’s fun, flirty beach holiday aesthetic.
Members of the public also got to join in the fun with the Meiji event fair, and bought Meiji branded products at a heavily discounted prices. Not surprisingly, ice cream was the most popular product purchase that day.
The Meiji run befitted its name as the world’s most delicious race. Unless someone comes up with a race to eat Mac and Cheese, it’s title is likely to stay.
