What’s an alternate exercise that runners should take up if you need a strong core?
Pilates, of course!
Made to help runners develop good stability and balance, Pilates is a great low impact workout that will not impact your joints and will help in increasing flexibility and support for muscles.
Como Shambhala is having a Pilates workshop with instructor Joyce Liew, who will be covering the event made especially for runners of all capabilities, whether beginner joggers or expert marathoners.
In it, she will be covering certain aspects that runners are always looking to improve on, such as how to help effectively increase your stride, better posture for better running form, the importance of breathing and how to do so for stamina, and how to prevent and recover from common running injuries.
You can be sure to depend on Joyce’s expertise and knowledge because as a Pilates practitioner for more than ten years, and an avid runner since she was 13, Joyce has been using Pilates tips to help with her performance and running .
As a special early bird price, the studio will be offering a 10% discount off the usual price of $120 for those who sign up before April 30th, and the event will be held at COMO Shambhala Urban Escape Singapore on May 28th.
More information on how to register and sign up for the event can be found here.
